A Guide to Total Consecration

Devotion to Mary, Roman Catholic Prayers

If you are looking to go deeper with your relationship with Christ, a good way to start is through his mother Mary. The Total Consecration according to Louis Marie de Montfort is more than just a set of daily prayers. It is a solemn vow, an eternal dedication. In the words of St. Louis, “This devotion consists in surrendering oneself in the manner of a slave to Mary, and to Jesus through her, and then performing all our actions with Mary, in Mary, through Mary, and for Mary”. This is not to say that by consecrating ourselves to Mary we loose our free will, but that if we truly desire what Mary wants then we will surrender ourselves perfectly to Christ’s will. This is not a prayer of guidance or help, but sincerely praying Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done!

How to Begin

1. Since this is such a serious and intense prayer you should begin by reading The Secret of Mary to better understand the consecration or True Devotion to Mary for a more in depth explanation.
